CNC Milling

We offer 3 axis vertical CNC milling services suited to components up to 660x356x457mm using the latest Hurco Max® Control technology. Combined with highly skilled engineers and quality tooling this allows us to produce precision components quickly with absolute repeatability.

Hurco Max® Control technology gives us complete versatility at the machine with options for conversational and NC programming as standard, integrated tool & material management and leading edge surface finishing smoothing algorithms for a superb surface finish.

We can offer cutting speeds of up to 8000rpm, a table area of 762×356mm and 20 piece on machine tool library configurations.

Tooling is chosen to meet the requirements of the job. Although we use a wide range of tool suppliers we tend to source most tooling through Iscar, Advance Carbide Tooling and Sumitomo Electric, for a superior result. The choice of tool is critical to the quality of the finished component whether its face milling, shoulder milling or side milling through materials as varied as cast iron, aluminium alloys and plastics.

Drilling, including boring, gun drilling and micro drilling can also be undertaken.

The CNC milling tool & material library allows for setup feeds and speeds for different materials to be retrieved by the operator including separate feeds and speeds for roughing or finishing operations which means we can ensure the best cutting and finishing regimes for your job. Combined with technology to automatically monitor tool wear based on time in the spindle we can guarantee the perfect results every time.

Standard surface finishes of 3.2µ, 1.6µ or 0.8µ as well as super finishing of steel and cast iron can be offered.

We also operate Tryax B4FC Bed Mill with Centroid's latest M400s control and conversational programming. The bed mill has a table size of 1270 x 254mm, X-axis / Y-axis / Z-axis of 800/410/510mm and spindle speeds of 60-4000 rpm .

We accept most small to medium size batch jobs as well as prototype and development work. We can work with free issue material or source any materials including high grade alloys and plastics with certification of conformity where required.
